Stop What You're Doing
No seriously. Stop.
Over the last couple of months, God has just been impressing upon my heart that we all need to take a bit of an inventory on what we are doing. Really, it's about why we are doing what we are doing. I think we get caught up so quick in just making life happen that we forget why we are doing it. Perhaps it's time to stop and re-assess what in the world you're doing.
On January 5th, we talked about our purpose in life at church. What we found to be true is that 1) God Is, 2) God is for His Glory, 3) We are made in God's image, and 4) If that's all true, then our purpose is to bring God glory.
Period. Bring God glory. That's our purpose. Now that manifests in many different ways in school, in the workplace, in church, at home, with friends, but the purpose never changes. It's what Jesus existed to do, and then we are supposed to do what He did, and grow more like Him.
Church, I cannot stress this enough. If you're finding yourself in a rut, or in a place where you just keep doing the same thing without considering why you're doing it, hit the pause button, and ask, "Am I doing this to bring Glory to God?" If you're answer is no, pray and ask God to change your mindset. I believe this will be a revolutionary exercise in your life, and honestly it needs to happen on the daily.
By His Grace and for His Glory,
Charlie
