Joy Comes in The Morning
JOY COMES IN THE MORNING
“I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit. Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. As for me, I said in my prosperity, "I shall never be moved." By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed. To you, O Lord, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy: "What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness? Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me! O Lord, be my helper!" You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!”
Do you wake up every morning with a thankful heart? If your anything like me some mornings I'm just happy to crawl out of bed and thankful isn't always on my mind. The older I get, the more the aches and pains greet me in the morning. I was talking with a friend the other day and she made a comment that she hopes she never becomes old and feeble...I responded back and said that she was looking at life through her current life stage lenses. The very person she was looking at, the one she considered feeble, might very well be giving thanks that they weren't bed ridden or an invalid requiring 24/7 care. Just remember every time you want to have a pity party, there's always someone who's got tougher circumstances than you. God promises us that when we put our faith in Him that he will deliver us from defeat. We see that through out the Bible and in culminates with Jesus on the cross. The ultimate delivery from defeat. Jesus defeated the grip that sin has humanity by dying on the cross, all we have to do is surrender our hearts to Him and we can truly experience what it means to have 'Joy in the morning'
Give thanks every morning for what the Lord has done, what He's doing and and what He is going to do!
