JOY
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Psalms 100:1-5 ESV
Have you ever had that day or that week where your life was so riddled with challenges that making a joyful noise to the Lord and serving Him with gladness wasn’t even on the radar? I think we’ve all been there. The following verses do an amazing job of explaining why, no matter what our circumstances are at the moment, we should make a joyful noise unto the Lord and serve Him with gladness. Read theses verses over and over...the proclamation says that the Lord is our God and that He made us? Not only did He make us but He claims us as His own...we are the the sheep in His pasture and as such we get to enter into his gate...Boy oh boy should we be thankful and full of praise! And if that’s not good enough news to make you want to make that joyful noise, just go straight to verse 5...the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.
This is a great passage to commit to memory so when you are having that day or that week where life is all up hill...you can go there instead of letting the enemy steal your joy.
