Mark 16:15-16 “And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

It's really interesting how good news for one person is often bad news for another person.  We recently put in an offer on a house and it was accepted! Such good news. But then tonight we found out we know someone who is friends with the family whose offer wasn't accepted on that same house. Our good news was their bad news.

When one person gets a job after a round of interviews, that means another person didn't get the job. Getting engaged and getting pregnant are both wonderful news until you have to tell someone who is dealing with the pain of singleness or infertility.

The gospel is the ultimate "good news".  It is eternally good. It is infinitely powerful. It is our only hope. Romans 1:16 says "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

The gospel is the power of God for salvation. God's saving power is THE BEST NEWS!! Unless, of course, you don't believe. The bittersweet truth about the gospel is that you have to believe. Unbelief turns good news into bad news.

Church, do you share the amazing news of the gospel like you share about buying a house, getting a new job, getting married or having a baby? Not sharing the good news of Christ to those around you is bad news. The story doesn't end well for those who don't believe in the saving grace of Jesus.  And if you don't tell them what you know how will the gospel ever be anything but bad news for them?

Do not be ashamed of the gospel. It is the good news of Christ Jesus. It is His power to save those who believe. In order for the gospel to be good news, it needs to be shared over and over to anyone who has ears to hear it. So share your news, church! It truly is the best news!
