Daily Routine
“My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path;”
Proverbs 2:1-9 ESV
Daily routines...what are they? They are the things we do on a regular basis everyday. Some people have very strict daily routines and others hold to a much looser daily routine schedule, but we all have those things that we do on a daily basis...daily routines. Where does God fit in your daily routine? Or do you include him at all?
When I read this passage from Proverbs, I hear a very clear guideline for a daily routine that will give results better than one could ever imagine. What are those results? Let's see, things like wisdom...knowledge...understanding...WOW! That sounds like some of the tools needed to be a well equipped saint, ready to go out and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Our Church is called the Well for a reason. It's a place where we are called to fill our buckets with the very ingredients this passage is talking about. Then we can empty those out into the lives we come in contact with so they can start to understand what an amazing Father we have...a loving Father who wants us to seek after Him and spend time with Him...the promised results are amazing.
Why wouldn't we want to make spending time with God part of our daily routine. The instructions are very clear and the benefits are not only incredible but they will be life changing for both you and the people you do life with.
